Glass Specifications

We can supply many glass options: Clear, Pattern, Toughened, Laminated, Safety Glass, Greenhouse glass and we have experienced glass cutters, putty glaziers, and our own in-house lead, Bevel and colour glass design and manufacture service.

Pattern Glass is available in many options:

Our sealed units conform to all the latest regulations and we can supply toughened, patterned or even a self-clean option.

Our replacement windows have SGGPlanitherm®Total + with argon gas as standard
Keeping your house warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer, Planitherm  is a type of insulating glass that increases the energy efficiency of windows by reducing the transfer of heat or cold through the glass (Low-e glass stands for low emissivity glass). This glass varies from normal clear glass in that one side of the glass has a special metal coating, technically known as a low emissity, or Low-E coating.

We use Argon in our units due to its excellent thermal performance and cost-efficiency in comparison to other gas fills. Argon is a colourless, odourless, non-flammable, non-reactive, inert gas. Argon gas fills are used to reduce heat loss in sealed units by slowing down convection inside the air space.
Combine a gas filled solution with our Low-E glazing for a truly remarkable performing unit.

Self Clean Option (mainly used on conservatory roofs)
The glass uses the forces of nature to keep the glass dirt free which means not only much less manual cleaning but also much clearer windows. The coating on the glass reacts with UV(Ultra-Violet) rays from natural daylight the break down and disintegrate organic dirt. This broken down dirt is then washed away when water hits the glass from rainfall.

Of course during long dry spells in may be necessary to wash the windows down yourself with a hose or a bucket of soapy water and compared with conventional glass the water dries very quickly without streaking.

We supply toughened glass where necessary (Compliant with Doc L)
Toughened glass is ideal where safety is always concern, it has a greater tolerance of repetitive load variations than ordinary glass before fracture occurs and is much less likely to break. If breakage occurs, the glass shatters into many hundreds of tiny pellets, which are very unlikely to cause any harm.

Conservaglas is supplied with all conservatory roofs.
